SUNNYVALE, CA—Walkable living is all the rage today. When combined with multifamily close to workplaces, it accomplishes a three-fer in terms of filling a void in the housing-challenged Bay Area.
“The market is strong, obviously,” Ken Busch, senior vice president of residential development at Sares Regis Group of Northern California, tells GlobeSt.com. “You’d not be paying attention if you didn’t know that.”
A project located just off Highway 101 at Fair Oaks Avenue at 610 East Weddell Dr., near many of Silicon Valley’s largest employers, fits the needed housing parameters and then some. Leasing is underway on a four-story, 205-residence community, 6tenEAST, and immediate occupancy is available.
“6tenEAST offers a luxurious lifestyle in a convenient location close to dining, shopping, entertainment and public park spaces,” says Busch. “We’re offering prospective residents an appealing, amenity-rich community for professionals who want to be close to work.”
The site is two miles from Moffet Park and a half-mile from light rail options. Nearby parks include John W. Christian Greenbelt, Lakewood Park and Seven Seas Park. A grocery store is also in walking distance.
6tenEAST features a fitness center, club room with catering kitchen, co-working space with private conference room and gourmet coffee bar, a rooftop lounge, outdoor swimming pool and spa with sun lounge, pet spa, and bike maintenance workshop and storage.
Three separate courtyards offer different experiences for tenants—the Reflection courtyard is for serene meditation, the Connect courtyard features an outdoor kitchen with barbecue/fireplace, and the Recreate courtyard centers around a pool and spa.
“It is highly curated with a hotel feel,” Busch tells GlobeSt.com. “People in Silicon Valley work hard but they want to go home to relax.”
The homes at 6tenEAST have 9-foot ceilings, oversized windows, private balconies and patios, and walk-in closets. Interiors feature plank flooring, solid-surface quartz kitchen countertops, stainless steel Energy Star appliances, in-home washers and dryers, flat-panel cabinetry, high-efficiency central heat and air conditioning, and LED lighting. 6tenEAST is targeting LEED Silver certification.
Sares Regis partnered on the project with Chicago-based Pritzker Realty Group. The design/development team includes San Jose-based Steinberg Architects, general contractor RCBA, Kier & Wright Civil Engineers and structural engineer KPFF.
